As per latest reports, the infamous piracy website TamilRockers has finally been blocked completely, giving a relief for the film industry. TamilRockers is a torrent website known for uploading pirated versions of Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, English, Malayalam, Kannada and seversy other language movies.
While there were many efforts to ban the site in the past, the website constantly changed its domain to a new link. Now it has been said that due to multiple DMCA (Digital Millenium Copyright Act) reports filed against TamilRockers by Amazon, the site had been removed form the ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) registry.
Currently TamilRockers website is not working but whether they'll be back with a new name or a newer domain is unknown. Nevertheless, the Tamil film industry which was most affected by Tamil rockers piracy is having a sigh of relief with this blocking.
